Round 13 vs Norwood (Home)

This week we are back home as we tackle Norwood at the Eagles Nest.

A week off and fresh bodies will make for a tight tussle for all three teams as its looking looking all of Norwoods teams will show a heavy presence in finals this year.

With only a handful of rounds left until finals, this Saturday will prove how hungry the Eagles are for success in September and it starts this week against a strong club in Norwood.

Seniors (2.10pm)

At the completion of our last game 2 weeks ago, the Senior squad that played last weekend were entered into the history books as only the second time the firsts, since Vermont FC was established to ever hold an opposing team goal less for an entire match. It will however be a completely different scoreline if we let Norwood do what they did to us in Round 2 earlier this season. After out-scoring them in the first quarter, we conceded 17 goals to only score 9 ourselves as they comfortably accounted for our efforts..

Norwood had their first taste of defeat for the year last round and we’ll be looking to double their loss record as we look for our 5th win in a row and send a strong message to the ladder leaders that we are to be feared in September.

Reserves (11.55am)

A comfortable win after a couple of shaky weeks for our reserves after we easily brushed aside the Falcons on a weather effected day.

Norwood, currently sitting 6th on the ladder would love to take a scalp like us to help put them into finals contention.

With a handful of players returning to the squad that featured in our premiership lineup of last year, we will be looking to dampen and chance of Norwood getting some finals action.

Colts (9.40am)

After a close tussle last round with an undermanned Falcon outfit, we managed to kick 8 goals to no score in the last quarter to run out 65 point winners.

Last time we met earlier this year, we were behind all day and lost by just over a couple of goals.

Its first vs second with us behind Norwood by percentage. A win will leapfrog us over them and have the mental edge for finals.

Go Eagles!!
